I was invited out to a BBQ the other evening and offered to take a little sweet something over for afters. After raiding my cupboards I found some ingredients and made some Mars Bar Brownies with them and it was very quick and ever so easy. Here is how I made them.
Makes 9 full size brownies
Ingredients:
1 packet of chocolate brownie mix
1 packet of white chocolate chip cookie mix
3 Mars Bars cut into thirds
1 egg
oil and water (as per the instructions on the brownie and biscuit mixes)
Method:
Pre heat the oven to 160oC (fan) / 180oC
Grease and line a brownie tin or loaf tin
(I was given a brownie pan for my birthday so was keen to try it out!)
Make the cookie mix up as per the instructions on the packet BUT add an extra 2 tbsp of water to make it go further and then either divide between your brownie pan or place along the bottom of your loaf tin
Place a third of Mars Bar into each brownie if making individually or along the base of the tin
Make the brownie mix up as per the instructions on the packet and cover the Mars Bars with the batter
Place into the oven and cook for about 25 minutes until cooked but still slightly gooey in the centre
I cut each brownie into quarters to make them bite sized as I could not imagine anyone really be able to eat a whole one! And of course makes them go round further.
They proved to be very popular and the caramel from the Mars Bars added a chewy and gooey texture to each brownie.
Yum!
