Just recently some of my fellow blogger Mummies have had a second or third addition to their families and I have really enjoyed reading and seeing how these gorgeous babies are progressing. It is the photos that show these new babies with their siblings which have melted my heart the most though because they just remind me of how my two were in the early days when Jenson was a baby.
I love seeing my two now get along so nicely (most of the time), but when I look back at photographs capturing the two of them back in 2011 it just makes me go all gooey and I find myself saying 'awwwww' and 'oh look at them back then' to myself a lot!
Although their first meeting was a little fraught with Burton not really knowing what this 'baby' was and Jenson not enjoying being held by his big brother, it didn't take long for the pair of them to adore each other. Looking back, Burton was such a caring and mostly gentle big brother to Jenson and was fascinated by this new member of his family. He loved touching him, cuddling him, kissing him and leaning over and just watching his every move. Yes we had the odd thing thrown at Jenson (nothing dangerous luckily) and he always managed to wake Jenson up whenever I managed to get him off to sleep after a feed (the moses basket was in the lounge during the day, and Burton was one noisy toddler naturally), but he was a lovely big brother to have around! I think he coped so well considering he didn't understand what was going on when Jenson arrived.
Burton was never jealous (and never has been either) or mean and meant well in his own toddler way. These photos are a small selection of the two of them together during Jenson's first 6 months and I just love seeing them again and again and remembering how knackering amazing time it was for these two brothers getting used to one another.

Awww lovely post. Made me remember my 2 together as there is roughly the same age gap between your 2 and my 2. Z used to love lying by his sister and playing with her toys and showing her how things worked. They still do that but there is a lot more arguing thrown in too. The joys! x
ReplyDeleteAwwh what a pair of cuties
ReplyDeleteSo cute and you can see the bond growing even then. They have grown so much and are so cute. x
ReplyDeleteI loved (and still do) all the photos of your boys when I was expecting Louka, I was so worried about having another baby and it really kept me going the thought of having two boys as lovely as yours. Not sure I could cope with the smaller age gap between yours though ;)
ReplyDeleteThose are the most gorgeous photos - your kids are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI know that some days it must have been an absolute killer having two so young but they look amazing together - and the bond is SOOO evident. It must be lovely to just watch them sometimes. Love your photos....we have that Lottie too, z used to spend so much time on it :)
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous photos, I love Burton's smiling face and how Jenson looks a little shocked! So nice to have two little boys so close in age, just imagine the mischief as they get older! I hope they will always be close and you have got such lovely photos of them to look back on xx

ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous pictures, it is lovely looking back at pictures of children growing up together. Your boys are like little peas in a pod x
ReplyDeleteOh these are just beautiful photos Jenny. I don't think I will ever tire of seeing my girls together, I remember when I was pregnant people telling me how amazing it would be but I didn't realise just how much it would tug at my heart strings every time. From the second Mads first met my LL she has been nothing short of incredible with her, she is so affectionate and lovely with her and it literally makes me so happy. She is such a great big sister- she has never shown an ounce of jealousy. I feel so happy to have given her the gift of a sibling and I am sure they will be great friends as they grow- as hopefully your boys will be too! With a few teenage girl fights thrown in for good measure! ;) x
ReplyDeleteThis is really lovely. It really is special to see your children interacting and growing together isn't it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos too. I can see why you are so proud x
