Last Friday I read a Flashback Friday post by Emma talking about hairstyles she has had over recent years and how she usually reverts back to the same one. She also had a photo of a haircut she had a few years ago which really suited her and she was contemplating whether or not to revert back to it now.
It got me thinking about the ones I have had recently and I too seem to fall into a similar hair style pattern. I start with a jaw length bob, grow it for a year or two and then I end up getting it cut into a jaw length bob once again!
Well Emma's post got me all spurred on and that afternoon I went and got my hair that I had been growing for the last eighteen months, chopped off into.........well I will let you see for yourself
I have always been the same, I just get my hair long - something I have never achieved fully for long - and then suddenly I have to get it cut shot again! Prior to giving birth to Burton I had grown my hair for a couple of years
and then a week before Burton was due I HAD to get it cut back into a bob, which I thought would be easier to mange with a baby (BIG mistake as long hair can be tied up out if the way, shorter hair cannot!)
Before that, my most favourite hairstyle I have had was back in 2006 after my hair had got a bit out of control following a trip abroad where the highlights I had were much lighter and my hair was in no style at all.
I went to the hairdressers for a colour and a restyle and my hairdresser at the time gave me a graduated bob like this
I have many more photos of my hair swapping between similar styles over the years but I would be here forever if I posted them all!!
I have had fringes, centre partings, side partings, highlights, lowlights, perms (not the best look I have ever had) and celebrity inspired cuts from the likes of the 'Rachel' from Friends and Natalie Imbruglia when she released Torn. Yet I have never managed to grow my hair really long and keep it that way! Maybe I will next time when I am bored with my current hair cut!
I will post one more though. It is from my 'Demi Moore' inspired hair style circa early 1990's which I had done following the film Ghost!
Hair today, gone tomorrow is very true with me and my fidgety hair!
Are you a changer like me or do you tend to stick to the same style?
I've just booked my appointment for next Thursday which is ages away to keep changing my mind! Everyone says get it short but I agree with you - surely long is easier as you can tie it up, it might not look great but it looks like you've done it!
ReplyDeleteI like your new hair:) I have had similar hair since I was 17, straight and long, with a fringe thrown in a few years ago. I'm too scared and too precious about my hair to change it, although I only ever tie it In a scruffy bun due to no time to style with two kids;) x
ReplyDeleteI'm from the diary of a 21st century mummy, can't figure out how to put that as my name, it wouldn't let me;)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!! xx
ReplyDeleteLove them. You look gorgeous in them all. I have pretty much had the same hairstyle forever. I took had one which was styled on Rachel from Friends. Think we all did ;) x
ReplyDeleteI've had more styles & colours than I care to mention - in Harry's 1st year I changed my style/colour 6 times!!! I know at the ripe old age of 38 have finally found a colour I like & I am just trying to grow it a bit longer.
ReplyDeleteI love your Ghost hair! :) This makes me want to dig out my old photos. I always revert back to short crop but every few years I think of growing it and it's changed colour and been wavy and straight and all sorts, but I like it short the best :) xx
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks really slick no matter the hairstyle! Love the short Bob, I think I'd like to have a change of hair style but need to think about what to go for!
