Simple Sausage Rolls

My Mum makes yummy homemade sausage rolls and when she showed me how she made them, I could not believe how easy and simple they were to make! Its only requires 3 ingredients and in about 30 minutes you have fresh and hot sausage rolls straight from your oven! Perfect.

Makes 16
All you need to make these are

1 sheet of ready to roll puff pastry
1 pack of 8 small skinless sausages
(I used Walls)
25ml milk (approx)

Method

Pre heat the oven to 200oC / 180oC (fan)
Grease a large baking tray
Cut the sausages in half
Cut the puff pastry sheet into 4 equal sized strips so that a sausage half will fit inside the pastry length
Take each sausage and roll the end of the pastry over the sausage, cut the pastry at this point and use milk to 'glue' the end of the pastry together
Place onto the baking tray
Repeat with each sausage until they and all the pastry have all been used
(My Mum cuts the pastry strips into rectangles first to wrap each sausage in, but I skip this and do it as I go along instead!)
Glaze each sausage roll with the milk
Cook in the oven for 20 minutes
Remove and allow to cool slightly if you like them hot, or cool completely of you prefer your room temperature of cold.
Place into an airtight tub with a lid once cooled and place into the fridge to keep them fresh  - they will keep for 4 days unless you like them too much *ahem*

  4. You can't beat a good sausage roll, and I hate it when the pastry gets soggy and squished!
