Sunday - was mostly spent preparing our home for Granma's (almost) surprise birthday party tomorrow, so basically lots of cleaning, tidying, shopping and baking! In between though the boys played outside a lot as it was a lovely hot day and Burton got to test out his new bubble gun.
Monday - Granma's 60th birthday and we held a party at our house for her and some family and friends. In true bank holiday Monday style it rained but that didn't put a dampener on our celebrations. I made a strawberry and elderflower birthday cake . Afterwards once we had cleared up the boys had lots of fun playing with the balloons!
Tuesday - Burton wasn't feeling quite himself and after some morning playing outside and bouncing high on the trampoline, he was really pale and had a lay down and a nap which is always sign that he is not himself. So we spent the afternoon watching a film.
Wednesday - we had a lovely day with my besties from school, Kimberly, Beth and Elaine, and the latter two's children who came for the day which involved lots of chatting, tea drinking and cake eating! And all the children get on really well which is great. Burton was till a little quiet at times and after everyone left he was sick! While I ws sorting him out, I came back to find Jenson had fallen asleep eating his baked beans. I picked him up to take him to bed but he woke up and then when I went to find Burton in the lounge he had fallen asleep! What a pair!
Thursday - Burton was better after a good nights sleep although going to bed at 6pm meant he woke me up at 5.45am ready to start his day! We went to Dunhelm Mill to buy a couple of bits and saw this dinosaur table and chair set in the sale, and as my Nanny had given us money at Christmas to buy such furniture we bought this one. They love it and at tea time they wanted to sit outside and eat.
Friday - a glorious sunny day so I packed a picnic and took the boys to Bideford park to meet Lisa and Joe. The boys had a great time and they particularly enjoyed the sand pit which was really big! We headed home via Instow and stopped off for an ice cream.
Saturday - another sunny day although a bit windier. We stayed at home and did some jobs in the garden and started to redecorate our front porch, while the boys ''helped' and played in the garden. Jenson did some digging in the soil - I think he was contemplating making a soil castle at one point!
And that is another week done! The weather looks better for the coming week so hopefully lots of outdoors photos next week.
I love seeing the different places they seem to fall asleep each week.
