This week the weather has been a bit of a mixed bag really. Hot sunshine one day and then cold and windy the next - it makes deciding what to wear hard especially as I had started to pack away my winter jumpers!!! Still, it has not deterred us from going out almost every day and enjoying getting our hands dirty and wet!
Last weekend we went for a walk in the woods and carried big sticks, blew the time on dandelion clocks, tried skimming stones again, walked through wild garlic and stirred muddy puddles with our magic wands (sticks!).
We visited Arlington Court (National Trust) again and played hide and seek within the big tree branches, hung from them, climbed them and hid among the long grass. We also found a blanket of bluebells at last.
More early morning trampoline bouncing in warm sunshine
and an afternoon bathing and splashing in a cold water filled paddling pool - brrrrrrr!
We tried to make mud pies but the ground wasn't wet enough so it was more like soil pies! Still, it was just as much fun and they boys found lots of earwigs which Burton picked up, stroked and referred to as 'little fellows' !
All of which add up to some brilliant outdoors fun!
What fabulous pictures, The Dandelion blowing ones are so cute. It really is just so much fun being outside doing all those simple things, like playing with mud, it is so satisfying :) Here's hoping summer might finally arrive and stay a while
ReplyDeletei love the bluebell shots that are around a the moment. Wow cant believe you had the paddling pool out too! brrr indeed :)
ReplyDeleteLooks absolutely fabulous. Making muddies is done thing we have yet to do in our new garden :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful activities, the boys look like they are loving the paddling pool. I remember when mine were this age pouring warm water and bubble bath in at the end of a day and calling it an outdoor bath, a great 2 in 1 and they loved it. *Happy Memories* I have a great recipe with wild garlic coming up on the blog next week, I'll make sure I flag it up for you. Looks like your woods are full of it! Thanks for linking up a delightful post.
