Collecting Sea Water (144/365)
Sunday - started off being sunny and hot so while Daddy and the boys did some gardening I pumped up the paddling pool, filled it with water and left it outside in the sunshine to warm up. However, four hours later after our BBQ lunch, the sun had hid away behind clouds and the water was not really that warm. This didn't stop the boys from sitting in the pool and splashing away! Although they were freezing after 15 minutes when they got out.
Monday - our usual day of Ladybirds for Burton and toddler playgroup for Jenson and I this morning. The photo shows us when we arrived home from collecting Burton and it was a little drizzly so they had been stomping through the water left on the paving slabs.
Tuesday - this morning we went to Dartington Crystal in Torrington (I once worked here) on a secret mission to make a present for their Granma whose 60th birthday is on Monday. Forgetting to take a photo of them doing this (doh!). When we got home we played with their new wooden cake set, and they loved serving me lots of cake and pretend tea from their play kitchen!
Wednesday - we went to the soft play today and there was a toddler group there today and they allowed the boys to join in and they decorated some flower pots and planted some sunflower seeds. Back home and after lunch we went into the garden and the boys made some soil pies - they were meant to be mud pies but the ground was too dry! Still, they had a lot of fun!
Thursday - Ladybirds for Burton and Jenson and I went to see a friend this morning. After lunch Jenson and I went to do some grocery shopping and after we collected Burton we went to see Granma for a couple of hours. Here is Burton playing with the Fisher Price playhouse.
Friday - I travelled by train to Pewsey to meet my Mum, Step Dad, Nanny and brother as it would have been my Na's birthday today, the first since he died last December. In his memory and as per his wishes we walked to the top of Martinsell Hill to scatter his ashes.
The photo shows the boys excited to have mummy home when I eventually arrived back at 7pm and they wanted to 'make' me some tea!
Saturday - At last after several weeks of needing to get it done, I got my hair coloured and cut this morning. It has been a sunny day - still a little cold but warm enough to visit Instow beach this afternoon (just as the sea breeze was cold) and let the boys have some sandcastle making fun. Here is Burton helping me to collect some sea water to use in the sandcastle moat that Daddy made. We then enjoyed an ice cream afterwards before heading home to wash all the sand off!
I hope you have all had an enjoyable week.
