It was a beautiful warm and sunny evening last Friday after tea, so we decided it was time for Jenson to test his new balance bike out side of the house. We did try to do this with him the weekend after his birthday, but my stubborn boy refused to wear his bicycle helmet!!
However, Friday he happily wore his head safety gear and off he went with Daddy, and Burton following closely behind, to get some practice in. Burton made me smile because he was giving his brother as many instructions on how to ride the bike as their Daddy did! He was really trying to be helpful but he did get in the way somewhat, bless him!!
Here he is in action
Burton was also given his balance bike for his second birthday too and Jenson must be taller than Burton was aged two because Burton can easily reach the ground while sat on the bike, whereas Burton had to stand on tip toe.
This meant that Burton didn't really get to grips with his first bike until a few months after his birthday when he had grown a little taller, which was when he and Daddy would venture outside. Of course it didn't take long for our eldest boy to gain his cycling confidence and despite lots of funny fallings off he soon mastered it and ventured onto a bike with pedals. Burton has been cycling with his big boy (non balance) bike for about a year now
I wonder if Jenson will follow in his big brothers foot pedal steps??

Aww how cute! He looks like he's doing really well. I've never heard of a balance bike before, I just thought you got a bike with stabilizers. Lovely photos, they're just both gorgeous boys.
ReplyDeleteAww how nice of Burton helping Daddy to coach his little brother. I bet he'll have the hang of it in no time! x
ReplyDeleteMy eldest do this all the time get right in the way because they quite literally want to do it for them! Xx
ReplyDeleteAw, can't beat a balance bike. My twins are two and they love theirs. Popping over from Country Kids.
ReplyDeleteAaww, your boys are so lovely. Burton sounds like Spud giving instructions to his little brother :D Spud hasn't got a bike just a scooter so I suppose we should be thinking about teaching him to ride a bike very soon!
ReplyDeleteBalance bikes are great for toddlers, the video of Jenson is lovely and I'm sure he will follow in Burton's footsteps and soon master riding it. Thanks for linking up to Country Kids.
ReplyDeleteSo cute, and a brill idea you got them for their second birthday. Those pics remind me of when my dad taught me to ride my bike!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! He's such a clever boy, really confident on his bike.
ReplyDeleteBalance bikes are brilliant - my younger boy loved his and was then able to get straight on his big boy bike and cycle off! Love the video, looks like Jenson's getting the hang of it, no problem :)
ReplyDeleteClever boy!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love balance bicycles. And awww what cute photos.
ReplyDeleteAww look at him go. I really wish I'd gotten the boys balance bikes but didn't really know much about them until recently. x
ReplyDeleteFab. N has a balance bike too - bought for his 2nd birthday in Jan. He's got short legs so still just that little bit too big for him really (might be ok in shoes outside now, so will need to check with shoes on). He loves 'riding' it in the house with me pushing it though. At least it gives him chance to practice his steering.
ReplyDeleteYour boys are so clever at things like this. Jenson looks super cute.
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised Burton wanted to have go, Charles does things like that too xx
