Happy 2nd Birthday Jenson (Flashback Friday)

Dearest Jenson,

I cannot believe that you, my youngest boy, will be turning two tomorrow 30th March. You seem to have got to this age so much faster than your brother did, maybe that's the curse of the second child that every milestone, achievement and development passes by faster than it does with the first born. Or maybe, in your case, because you have hit certain mile stones much sooner than Burton did, like walking and talking, you seem older at the same age than you big brother did when I look back at photos and memories I have of him at this age.

You are a lovely, gorgeous little boy and on the whole happy and cheeky and content.

You do have a bit of a temper on you though and the one thing you do and have done for the last year almost I think is hit me when you are mad!!! Despite being told off and sent to the naughty step, you still do this! 

Even now at almost two you are still very much a mummy's boy and insist on sitting on my lap when we watch TV and signal for me to carry you around when you are tired, and you reach for my hand when we go outside. You only really nap when laying on me, unless you are in the car, which is so sweet and takes me back to those early baby days of yours.

You love being outside and exploring - it doesn't matter whether its dry or wet, warm or cold you love playing outdoors

 and as long as you are wearing one of your warm knitted hats you are happy!!

Like your brother you love water and getting wet and of course splashing in puddles!!

And as long as monkey is with you you are happy to be anywhere

You pull the best pouty grumpy faces - its hard not to laugh when I am telling you off 

You are a very funny little boy and enjoy making others laugh with your funny faces, mannerisms and play.

You love Peppa Pig and Raa Raa The Noisy Lion TV programmes and it makes me smile when I hear you laughing along while watching them. You are also really good at remembering an episode if you have seen it before and will tell me what's going to happen. And you love calling your daddy 'naughty daddy pig'!!

You amaze me sometimes when you answer a question or tell me what something is out of the blue - I guess you have just picked up so much by watching what Burton gets up to and listening to what we have talked about. Unlike Burton at the same age, you are such a fidget and when I have been trying to show you things you wont sit still! I think this is why it surprises me when you speak about stuff sometimes because I wasn't aware how much you took in. I think being the second child, I haven't dedicated enough one on one time with you as I did with Burton because it was easier when it was just him and I. I always feel guilty about this and that is why I am pleased that have learnt so much and indeed you are learning still.

You strive to be like Burton and copy some of the little funny things he does which makes me smile. Maybe that is why your walking and talking skills are more advanced than his were at the same age. You just adore your big brother and love playing with him and I find it funny when you are not the one jumping on him and play wrestling him when before it would be the other way round! It is you I often have to remove off him now! Yet Burton is very tender with you at times and will rub your head and hug you and he loves you very much too it is clear to see. I hope you always get on as well.

You have made our little family complete Jenson, and we love you very much.
