My Week That Was - Tadpoles And Granma's House

So yet another week has passed me by and it's scary to think we are almost half way through the year already!! Yikes! Anyway, while I contemplate that let me tell you what we got up to in our week that was.

Monday
Was ladybirds again for Burton and he happily went with no problems.

Jenson, on the other hand, had a day of being completely over tired because he refused to go down for a nap again! It's just a nightmare on days like this because he is just super clingy and as much as I want to make the most of or time together without Burton being around, its hard though when he is tired and just wants to be in my arms constantly!

My Mum turned up for lunch and once he had eaten his,Jenson was dozing off in my arms so I put him down for a sleep while Mum and I went to pick Burton up (OH was working from home). Burton was very excited to see his Grandma and mummy arrive and couldn't wait to show Mum his peg and the playground!

When we got home, Jenson was awake (he hadn't slept very long at all!) so Grandma and I took the boys to the park, although we didn't stay that long as it was cold!

Tuesday
We stayed at home today and this morning we made a robot .....sort of!

This afternoon after playing and reading books and making a mess, I had a bit of a re-arrange with the toys and brought down Burton's desk again which I put away in his bedroom about 6 months ago. I also brought the zebra bouncy toy down for Jenson to use as he loves sitting on it in Burton's bedroom, and Burton is too big for it now really.

Wednesday
The boys and I went to Grandma's as usual to see her and Ben, so lots of playing took place!

We had to leave a little earlier than usual as Daddy had a dentist appointment, so while he was having his teeth looked at,the boys and I popped into the Tesco cafe for a drink which they thoroughly enjoyed! Jenson amazed me because I didn't have his sippy cup so I offered him a straw and he sucked up his water no problem!

Once we were home, Granma phoned to ask Burton if he would like to stay the night seeing as though we had to leave so early and of course he said yes! So she came and collected him.

Thursday
Jenson was due to have his inoculations this afternoon as they were postponed following him being off colour and with a temperature last week. However, I called the doctor today as for the last couple of days he has had a rash which has been spreading further. I put it down to being a viral rash as I remember Burton having the same when he was much younger. Anyway I got an appointment with the doctor this afternoon and after a thorough examination and a second doctor coming in (!) it was decided that it was a viral rash. So his jabs have been put back for another couple of weeks!

When we got home his brother called to ask if he could stay another night at Granma's and as it was almost tea time anyway, I said he may as well as it sounded like he was having so much fun! Granma bought him a water pistol and despite it being a drab day, he was having lots of fun squirting water outside and getting himself and his Granma wet!

Jenson and I enjoyed a lovely day just the two of us today, I have noticed that he really comes out of himself when big brother isn't around! We had lots of giggles and did book reading and playing and it was nice for a change.

Friday
Jenson and I went over to Granma's to collect Burton mid morning and ended up staying for lunch and most of the afternoon as it was quite a nice day and we were able to play outside.

And Granma and Burton went fishing for tadpoles which he LOVED!

Saturday

Daddy took Burton to have his hair cut this morning and when they arrived home he was carrying a packet of chocolate buttons as he had been such a good boy. Apparently, he sits in the chair as good as gold while his hair is cut and does everything the hairdresser tells him!

We took the boys swimming this morning which always goes down well with them!

After lunch the boys and I had another exciting trip to Tesco to pick up a few essential items we were low on.

Sunday
This morning we went to Funderzone, our local soft play centre, for a couple of hours which was lots of fun.

After lunch we went to Granma's so that Burton could ride his bike. We ended up staying for a BBQ and three of the boy's cousins turned up too so all the children had fun playing outside together.

A lovely ending to a lovely week that was :)

  1. What a fun week! I used to love tadpole hunting! I hope Jenson is feeling better soon. It's funny you say you notice he comes out of himself more when his brother isn't there as Miss C was exactly the same when she was younger. Now she doesn't care, she beats him up if he bothers her lol!

  2. Looks like a very fun week, love the pic of Jenson with his straw. Rosie was always very efficient with straws too. The second grows up so much more quickly! Loving the tadpole hunting too :-) x

  3. It always sounds like you get so much done in the week. Its nice that the boys see their grandparents so much.
Jenson is looking so grown up.
I know what you mean about Jenson coming out of himself when Burton isn't around. Harry is the same once Charles goes to bed.

  5. Those bricks look like loads of fun.  I know the feeling it is so hard when they refuse to sleep- they are so tired but won't give in.  No fun at all.  I love Tadpole Hunting, I used to do that when I was little! x
