Gone Tadpoling

I have mentioned before, how lucky we are that Burton and Jenson's paternal grandparents own a house that has a bit of land. Many a day we have spent there playing outside on the swings or trampoline, helping to feed the chickens, riding bikes and so on.

Another great countryside asset they have is a leat which flows along at the bottom of their drive. Up to now, I have to be honest, I have only ever noticed ducks on it. Today, however, the boys Granma showed Burton how to fish for tadpoles. Armed with a net and a bucket, off they headed to the leat bank. Apparently, tadpoles are on the decrease this year but that being said the two intrepid 'fishermen' managed to catch 7!

Please note: all seven tadpoles were released back into the water safely afterwards.

I am linking this up to a fab linky which celebrates the great outdoors

  1. Oh I do hope your tadpoles survive through to frogs. We were awash with frogspawn back in February and March after the mild winter, but something has happened and we are struggling to find tadpoles now. Looks like your boys are enjoying their hunt, so I might just have to take mine out for another look on the farm. Thank you for sharing on Country Kids
