Simple Outdoors Fun In The Sun

Last week we finally saw some glimpses of better things to come weather wise. It meant that we were able to take advantage of the warmer and dry weather by spending a lot more time outdoors. With the exception of Monday when Burton was at pre school where he does get plenty of playground time and Jenson and I played outside at a toddler playgroup, every other day we were outside for the majority of each day.  Tuesday and Wednesday we were out from after breakfast until tea time even eating our lunch in the garden - it was wonderful.

We did so many things which the boys adored because they were able to be outside for so long each day. We didn't do anything amazing or astounding, ground breaking or especially exciting, just simple things which childhood memories should be made of :

picnics
eating ice creams
painting outdoors
finding bugs and holding them and returning them to their soily or leafy habitats
kicking a ball about
climbing trees
swinging from a tyre
making homemade perfume
swings and slides
blowing bubbles
gardening

All activities which don't cost either any or very much money either (the food parts really) which is always a bonus!

As the saying goes make hay while the sun shines, afterall you never know how long the fair weather will last or if it will come back again!!

  2. Awww, I love all these outdoor shots, they're beautiful and happy. Jenson's getting tall now, isn't he? I can see daddy having to build a tree-house in that tree in the future, definitely a good climbing tree.
