I love making photo books each year of my boys to give to relatives for Christmas and they are always the present my family look forward to now each year from me too. Waaaaaaay back last year, well just before Christmas I was asked if I would like to review a photo book using Blurb, an online photo editing web site which allows an array of photo books to be created for personnel and business purposes. From hardbooks to soft books and even e-books Blurb caters for everyone.
To get started with the editing, you actually need to choose your book making tool (see below) and for my book I needed to download some Blurb software which I have to be honest I have never had to do so before with my usual on-line photo gift sites I have used in the past.
However, it was very easy to do and within a few minutes I was ready to begin my Blurb photo book adventure! After uploading my photos I was able to chose the size of the area on each page that I wanted to fill with each photograph. It was good that if the quality of my chosen photo was not up to scratch, a little message popped up to inform me.
I actually made two 20 page softback books: one for my OH featuring him driving in his rally cars over the years ,and one of Jenson's first year as we don't have one of just him by himself being the second child.
Designing the book the way I wanted it was very easy to do and had I wanted to add more pages, or change the order or edit in any way there were clear guidelines of how I could have done so.
If I were to use Blurb again, and given the clear and easy to follow editing tools, the excellent value for money and the high standard of the finished photo books I received I most certainly will, then I would love to make a photo book featuring my instagram photos.
BUT what I would really like to make one day , is a cook book featuring some of my home made cakes. A bit egotistical ? Maybe but what a fun thing to do especially as I love cookery books (I have an entire cupboard packed with the ones I own) and to see all my recipes in print would make me feel like Nigella for a brief moment at least!
Blurb offers a great service offering an array of photo books that are of superb quality. The creating, designing and editing is very easy considering the excellent end product. Both myself and my OH are very pleased with our new photo books and I cannot wait to show them off to my family and tell them "I made that!"

I've been looking at making one of these books for Z for ages and have heard Blurb is really good - I really need to do it. Yours looks fantastic!!
