When I am not panicking about all the packing and sorting out I need to do for our up and coming move (aaaaaargh!), I am dreaming about what renovations we can do to the interiors to make it more to our taste and bring it up to date.
The rooms I am most excited about redecorating are the ones that the boys will have. One is their bedroom, which I think they will share for the time being because while they are still young it will be nice for them, keep up their brotherly bond. Plus they are used to cohabiting at night now and I think they like sharing a room - for now at least! We have asked Burton what theme he would like and at the moment he has said 'Cars' (as in Disney Cars the film). Unfortunately for Jenson he wont really get a say in it being unable to tell us. Although if he could I think he would ask for a Raa Raa The Noisy Lion room! However, seeing as though he tends to like the same things as his brother anyway, I don't think Burton's suggested room decor will be a problem for him. By the time we move into our new house, Jenson will be about ready to move out of his cot and into his first toddler bed and I think he and Burton would love a Lightening McQueen bed.
The other room which they will have is their own playroom. It is only a small room down stairs but it will be for them, and they can make as much mess as they like and it wont matter, because it can be hidden behind a door out of view. It will be lovely to have all their things in one place at last with proper storage. I will style this room to be equally as appealing to both boys and make it colourful and cheery, and a great place for playing and being stimulated in. I will be able to get the boys a desk to sit at too, to do their arts and craft activities at which will save our oak dining table, their current work space, from being used. I have wanted them to have their own desk or table for a long time but we don't have the room in our current home. However, with their colouring pens and crayons being in their playroom I need to make sure that whatever paint, wallpaper or wallstickers we use to decorate the playroom walls with, is washable and durable.
Nothing worse than having a rooms interior made over by an enthusiastic toddler and his crayons!
