I have to be honest I don't get to listen to my - well any really - music as much as I once did in my *sighs* youth. Then I would constantly have a pair of earphones in my ears and be listening to my favourite songs anywhere and everywhere I went with my 'walkman ' (remember those?). It would drive my parents mad, probably because I would play my music too loud and you could partially hear it through my headphones! As a student I would always listen to my 'CD walkman' (yes, I had progressed from a cassette to the CD by then!) on my long coach journeys to and from my university dwellings to my family home, and then as an adult I moved onto my mobile phone. So I guess that over the years I have had my fair share of headphones/earphones.
However, I have never seen earphones with a piece of bling attached to them, until I was recently asked to review the BassBuds High Performance In-Ear Headphones. The headphones that all the celebrities are raving about (apparently, I am a bit out of the loop nowadays!).
Firstly, and this a bit of a girly thing to say, but look at that lovely presentation box, as first impressions go this was a good one for me. I was also impressed by the free accessories bundle which comes with your purchase (hidden out of view underneath the vac form)
Secondly, the ear pieces contain genuine Swarovski elements which make a real statement I think and they also look pretty and sparkly!!!

Ok thats my inner girliness dealt with...........
..... so putting the look of them aside, what really counts is how they perform.
I have been using them to listen to my slimpod every night before I go to sleep mostly, as thats the only 'me' time I get!! I have found the ear pieces to be comfortable and the sound to be very clear with no crackles. I have also liked the fact that they have a one button, one touch mic/MP3 controller which has meant I have been able to work my way round my iPad without having to reach up to touch it on my bedside table. I have also found myself listening to Faithless's Insomnia the last few days due it being featured in an advert at the moment (*LOVE* that song), so I have checked it out through my BassBuds and I have to say that the clarity and quality of the sound is fantastic and sooo clear! Shame the same cant be said for my singing *ahem*. The amazing audio quality of the Bassbuds is down to them containing advanced crystaltronics sound technology which is a feature unique to them.
Another thing worth mentioning, especially for a clumsy person like myself, is that the lead is anti tangle, making it flexible and the BassBuds are encased in tough high quality, light weight aluminium housing. Remember I am not called Mummy Mishaps for nothing!! And - yes there's more - and they are compatible with any smart phone too!! Brilliant.

My OH listens to audio as he falls asleep so I asked him to trial the BassBuds In-Ear Headphones for a few days and nights for me. He reported back that they are as comfortable as the ones which he uses (which came with his iPhone) and also noise isolating and they have a good bass response.
Priced at just £34.95 (down from £49.95) I think the award winning BassBuds are excellent value for money and are very competitively priced when compared with the market leaders. Not only do they perform well and produce excellent sound quality, they just look fantastic too.
