In honour of those 3 marvellous mummies who have gone to Bangladesh with
Save The Children to help raise awareness of the terrible situation young children and their mothers face there, Tara at Sticky Fingers has made this weeks The Gallery theme 'One Day In August'. The idea is that on Sunday 29th August, the same day Josie, Sian and Eva set off half way across the world to make a difference, we The Gallery participants take a snapshot of our lives on that day: to show what we were doing that Sunday, the day #Blogladesh became a reality.
This bank holiday weekend made a real change as Burton, his Daddy and I went to Cornwall for the weekend to stay with the OH's parents who had hired a holiday cottage. For once the weather was glorious and we took Burton to the beach for the first time which he LOVED!! He has only just started taking a few steps over the last week with our assistance, but paddling in and out of the cold sea he did not want to sit down he just kept walking and clambering over the rocks! It was lovely to watch and here he is with his Daddy having so much fun ( he got quite upset after half an hour when we said it was time to leave)
Looking at these photos and seeing my healthy baby boy playing in clean water, I feel very fortunate to be so lucky when there are so many children in countries like Bangladesh, who are not so blessed. Thank goodness for organisations like Save The Children and good luck to those intrepid #blogladesh ladies.
Now, that's a way to spend the bank holiday weekend. I was at work sadly, but this is what I would have liked to be doing. Love Cornwall
