The Olympic Meme

I was tagged in this meme a few weeks ago by Dawn and Claire and have just got around to doing it.!

There are no list of rules for this one, you just answer a list of Q & As so on your marks, get set ....... GO!!!!

If everyday tasks were an Olympic event what would you get a gold medal in?

I am not really that good at everyday events. I don't get to keep on top of my housework, I seem to send all day picking cushions back off the floor and removing toys and books out of the way to avoid an obstacle course which would result in a trip or a fall.
I guess maybe my cooking and cake making might win me a gold medal, as I do pride myself on my performance in the kitchen in producing healthy and tasty homemade meals.

As a child, or now even, did you excel at a particular sport?
I have never been a sporty adult let alone child. I was good at swimming and would still be if I went ! On the rare occasions that I ran a race on sports day, I once came second but never first. I remember in my first year at secondary school, I ran the 400m and to been with I was in the lead but then my sash slipped and I had to stop to pull it up to save me from falling over. As a result, I came last!

Michael Phelps (swimmer) or Michael Johnson (runner) - which sport appeals to you more?
Swimming has always been my favourite exercise sport. I don't watch it on TV but it's the only sport I have ever stuck with since I was a child.

How fast can you get out of bed and ready to go out the door if you miss the alarm and sleep in?
My alarm nowadays is either one or both of my children or my own body clock! Pre children days I could be out of the house very fast if I were to over sleep, but if I had to be out of the door in a rush with my boys goodness knows! It takes long enough when we have time! Put it this way, no gold medals for this event!

What fantasy sport would you like to see made into an Olympic Sport?
Food fight

Claim to fame time: have you ever met an Olympian and who was it?
No, I haven't.

What event in past Olympics can you remember most vividly?
Probably Torvil and Dean winning gold with The Bolero, I was quite young but I do remember it. Of course I am reminded of it when ever I watch a final of Dancing On Ice!

Tuning in at home or tickets clamped in sweaty palms?
Neither. Not interested in it at all.

Who do you think most deserves a gold medal (any walk of life not just Olympians)?
I think anyone who does lots of unpaid charity work and those who volunteer at hospices etc...

Next to pass the baton on…
Well as I am behind on completing this and have no idea who has or hasn't participated, I will leave the baton here ready for someone to take on the Olympic Meme Challenge.
Please feel free to join in and if you do let me know so I can have a read.
