My Week That Was - Another Poorly Boy

It's been a strange week tis week with an extended bank holiday weekend at the start of it. It seems like it made for a short week that was, when in fact it didn't at all. If that makes sense!? Uhm.......??

Well while you figure that one out, let me share with you my week that was

Monday
Was a bank holiday and the sun did make a small appearance which saw me make an effort and wear a maxi skirt! Although when I ventured out it was cold!

Anyway, due to Burton having been stuck indoors and at one for the past week, we took him and Jenson to Granma and Grampy's house for a change of scene. As soon as we arrived Jenson went down for a two and a half hour nap! Daddy took Burton outside for some fresh air and I caught him doing this

I was a bit concerned that he had been taken out without his jacket on considering how poorly he had been (Daddy!)!
To get us in the Jubilee mood, Granma got some flags and bunting and put them up outside which Burton thought was great fun!

When I woke Jenson up for lunch he had a temperature of 39.7!!! He has been feeling ill since he returned home to us on Saturday, I really hoped it wasn't going to be whatever it was that Burton had.
We went home after lunch and watched Kung Fu Panda..........again! This is Burton's favourite film at the moment!
Jenson continued to have a temperature on and off and didn't sleep well either.

Tuesday
Another bank holiday!
Jenson wasn't any better so I called the out of hours doctor but he was useless! Will take him to my GP in the morning instead. As a result of the weather being lousy and a poorly boy and a recovering boy we had a lazy day at home watching Kung Fu Panda (surprise surprise, although it is funny!), playing with the train set and mostly napping in Jenson's case.

Wednesday
Another rough night with Jenson. I phoned and made an appointment with the GP this morning who agreed that my baby had a temperature with swollen throat, and glands, a lot of thick mucus (which had small amount of blood in) and really sore eyes which he couldn't open very widely. A nasty cold was the diagnosis with a possibility of hayfever aggravating his eyes too. Bless him, he looked so poorly :(
And spent the day sleeping and dozing on me.

Luckily Burton was out for most of the day playing with his cousins at Granma's which meant I could dedicate my time to Jenson.

Thursday
Burton had Ladybirds today and to begin with he was reluctant to go and got a little upset when I dropped him off. However, he was fine and enjoyed himself and told me lots about his day when he got home.

Jenson was still not brilliant today, although his eyes looked a bit better which I hope is a sign that he is on the mend at last. He basically slept for almost the entire time Burton was at Ladybirds - 3 1/2 hours he napped for! When he work up he played with some toys - he hasn't done this for a few days so it was nice to see him doing so.

Once Burton was home him and I practised writing some words, see if you can see what he has written in these three pics

I think he did really well :)

Friday
Jenson woke up looking the best he has done all week! Huzzah!
Daddy picked up his new glasses this morning. He's been suffering its head he's and dizziness and blurred vision for a few weeks so he is trialling some to see if it is his eyesight which is causing this. Of course Burton wanted to try them on (well we all did lol!)

We didn't do much this morning just played, but after lunch we returned some bedding we had borrowed from Granma and stayed for an hour. Jenson fell asleep on the way home, and went to bed for a nap so Burton did some drawing - he has really enjoyed doing this for the past week or so.

Saturday
Daddy left early this morning as he is away in Newcastle. The boys and I were collected by Granma at 9am to go and stay with her for the weekend, as I am without a car and I have agreed to babysit three of the cousins, as their parents and Granma and Grampy are out tonight. So we are all staying over for the day and night.

This afternoon I did a game of 'I Can Cook' with Burton and his three cousins while Jenson napped. We made some cakes which was very messy and an experience with so many cooks too spoil the cake lol.

Both the boys enjoy playing with their cousins and Burton enjoyed playing with the dolls too :)

It took me a long time to put them all to bed tonight, and and I didn't sit down with my cuppa until 9.30pm! I have said it before, and I will say it again, I don't know how people manage with more than two children!

Sunday
Spent the morning playing and the cousins left just before lunchtime. We stayed for the rest of the day and I had hoped that the boys would fall asleep on the car journey home, as I got them ready for bed at Granma's. But alas no such luck and I have only just got the boys to bed now as both were reluctant to go (it's 8pm) and Daddy won't be home until about 11pm. I can still hear Burton singing even now!

And that concludes my week that was.

  8. Ahhh no poor Jenson. I hate it when they are ill. I bet it must be worse with two in case they both catch it!  I used Picasa to do the photo layout on my blog. It's really great, you can make collages and add fonts to them :) xx
