So I am sat here full of food and thinking about all of the chocolate we have in this house!! Its obscene I tell you, obscene!! Anyway, while I contemplate how we are going to eat our way through so much gluttony, here is my week that was
Monday
Was ladybirds again. Despite a few protests about him not liking it and some tears and the usual screaming from the walk from the car to the front door, once we were inside and I managed to get him talking to Catherine about Jenson's birthday party, I was able to leave with just a few tears and cries of "no mummy"! Still I don't find it as hard to leave him now because I know he enjoys himself and loves it really.
When I returned to pick him up I received my first homemade card made by Burton - an Easter bunny card which he decorated with finger painting! I was really pleased with it.
Before we went home, I took the boys to see their Granma and Grampy as it was a nice afternoon and I thought they would enjoy some fresh air and the swings and trampoline, which they did! Granma made Burton a daisy chain bracelet which he was thrilled with and enjoyed wearing on his wrist!
Tuesday
We couldn't go out today because for one thing it was wet and Jon had taken the car for the day, and secondly we had to wait in for the plumber to come and fix our boiler (again!) as we had not had any hot water since Thursday last week! So we painted some eggs, played with the toys, made some cupcakes and watched some CBeebies.
We were having a lovely day when it all went wrong .......I decided to give the boys a baths bit earlier I than usual , seeing as they were over due one due to them not having one since Saturday! Anyway, back downstairs all clean and in their pyjamas, we waited for Daddy to come home (ETA 7.30pm), and they were laughing and playing but then Burton accidentally yanked Jenson's arm too had which resulted in a visit to A & E where it was discovered that he had a pulled elbow ( yes that is the name of the injury!). You can read about our trip to the hospital here.
Wednesday
Jenson woke up as right as rain this morning and you would never have guessed that he had injured his arm last night! Burton had stayed at his Granma's while the rest of us were up at the hospital so after breakfast I went over to see him, and received the biggest hug! The three of us stayed with Granma for the remainder of the day playing
Thursday
I thought it was Friday all day today!!
We ended up going to visit my Mum and Step Dad which I didn't arrange to do until I phoned her after breakfast! We played indoors and then in the afternoon we went for a walk and too the park where Grandad was showing Burton how to climb up the netting and wooden ramps, which in wellington boots isn't always easy and he slipped a few times! But never one to give up, Burton kept going until he succeeded!
was Good Friday which meant that Daddy started his 4 day weekend :)
This morning Jon decided to go and buy Burton a bike with pedals as he has mastered his balance bike so well now. When they got home a funny thing happened, Daddy was showing Burton how to sit on the bike and put his feet on the pedals, and to do this he sat on the bike. Well suddenly there was a cracking sound and then Daddy fell and landed on the floor - he had broken the bike seat!! Oh dear how I laughed!!Luckily, the place where the bike was bought from exchanged the damaged bike for another one! *phew*
This afternoon, I went and got my hair coloured and needed up also getting it cut into a short, graduated bob!! While I was doing this the boys and daddy were at Granma's where Burton was trying out his new bike - he was doing well by the time I returned.
Saturday
we were all very excited today as we went to Paignton Zoo! I haven't been there since I was at school and it has changed a lot since then.We all had a wonderful time seeing all the different animals.
When we got home, Daddy and Burton went to the park and my boy managed to ride his bike with his get on the pedals which was brilliant!
Sunday
or Easter Sunday of course! We visited Granma and Grampy for their annual Easter celebrations. The highlight of which was of course the Easter egg hunt for all the grandchildren (of which there are 7) around the garden. It was great fun and my two now have so many eggs and chocolate goodies - my cupboard is bursting and what they have will last for a long time!!
I am linking this up to this great linky hosted by MummyDaddyandMe

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely week and so much outdoors despite the cold. I loved watching the videos, you have a very determined young man there! Thank you for sharing on Country Kids
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely week apart from the a and e visit. The four day weekend has been amazing hasn't it, we have eaten far too much chocolate here and it is not good for my pre- holiday diet. I can't wait to take Mads to the zoo, I am like a big kid at heart. We have been to Woburn Safari Park but she was too little and slept all the way through. I love your hair Jenny, it looks lovely and very shiny. x
ReplyDeleteLove these posts. What a great week. Burton is certainly proud of his bracelet. The zoo looks a lot of fun. x
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely week (apart from the hospital visit!)
ReplyDeleteWell done to Burton for getting the hang of the bike! We're getting C a bike for her birthday in June, I'm wishing I'd got her a balance bike before now though!
I've had my days mixed up all week because of Easter and we also have a ridiculous amount of chocolate. Iylas granny bought her three even though we told her not to! Love your new hair :) x
