My Week That Was - A Week Of Walking & Surprises

Last week involved a lot of walking!!! It also involved a lot of tears and money having to be paid out by my OH owing to me dinging his car!!! Yikes!! Yes, its time for my week that was

Monday

So it was Burton's fourth session at the Ladybirds daycare/nursery and he got himself in a tizzy before we even left the house so I knew that I would be in for a rough ride of it when it was time to say goodbye to him. It was the worse one yet and I could hear him screaming for me in the alley way as I made my way back to the car.

Then my day just got worse as through my teary eyes, I completely misjudged the width of the car park entrance and I reversed into a wall!!! Doh! I didn't bother stopping to see what damage I had done, I just got out and went on home. Then my already rubbish day got even worse because as I pulled the car up outside my hues, I scraped the passenger wheel along the kerb and tore a small hole in the rubber of the tyre *sighs deeply*. I can assure you that I would not have won any popularity awards in my house last week!!

Of course damaging the tyres meant the car was not road worthy and Burton still had to be collect from Ladybirds which is about a 6 mile round trip!! So I walked with the double buggy and it was actually ok and I enjoyed the fresh air and the views along the way. Burton was VERY pleased to see me when I eventually arrived to pick him up (took me about 45 minutes, not bad considering its a country road and some of it was uphill!) and chatted most the way home until he made me sing to him!

In the evening my throat and ears were sore from my cold and I was pleased to get into bed and end my awful day!

Tuesday

We met with a friend and her baby who is the same age as Jenson at our local soft play centre this morning, which was nice as I haven't seen her or Joe since last November. Of course we walked the 4 mile round trip :)

This afternoon while Jenson napped we made a birthday cake for Daddy's birthday tomorrow and I got Burton to write out a Tigger birthday card which he chose to give to Daddy from him and Jenson. Of course, don't tell a toddler that it is a secret because as he was scribbling inside it he shouted up to Daddy to 'come 'ere a minute' and i had to hide the card but Burton told him what we were going anyway!!

Wednesday
Also known as Daddy's birthday when he gets an actual birthday today making him 9!!

Leaving Daddy to work the three of us walked over to Granma's (3 miles) and it was a lovely sunny day which made the walk a very pleasant one indeed!

It also meant that the boys got to have a bounce on Granma's trampoline in the sunshine which they enjoyed very much!

 On the way home it was just Jenson to push which made it a little easier for me, as Burton stayed the night.


Thursday
The boiler got fixed at last this morning after more than a week without having either in out home!! Wooo hoo!!

Jenson 'helped' me put the clean laundry away!!


Burton spent the afternoon at Instow beach with his Granma and Grampy and
had lots of fresh air and fun

At teat time Daddy left for a few days as he had a rally to drive in up north somewhere on Saturday!


Friday
After a quick trip to the library (buy foot again)  to return some of the books, my Mum came to pick Burton up to take him back to hers for the night as he hasn't stayed with her and Grandad for months, and with Daddy away until Sunday it meant I only had one child to look after for one night at least! I didn't feel great for the rest of the day - a headache due to my sinuses being blocked due to my nasty cold that I have had all week. So Jenson and I just stayed in and played.


BUT I did receive a lovely surprise via twitter which was to announce that my blog and I was

I was so chuffed - like really, really chuffed :)

Saturday
I walked Jenson into town for lunch and we went to M & S. I really enjoyed my lunch but Jenson threw most of his on the floor!! This has been his favourite new thing to do this week - usually he cannot get food into his mouth fast enough, but this week its been all about crushing food in his hands and throwing it on the floor or down the side of his highchair!!

The when we got home we did some chilling!!

Burton arrived home in time for tea and despite getting Jenson in bed by 7.30pm I couldn't get his big brother settled until almost 9pm!

Sunday
was a lazy day really. Daddy didn't get home until lunchtime after Burton had couple of terrible two moments!!

Luckily in between the temper tantrums, there were some lovely playtime moments and this photo makes me smile :)
