Slow Cooker Gammon

Cooking a joint of gammon in the slow cooker is easy peasy.

Don't believe me?

Then check this out

Place your gammon joint in your slow cooker

No need to add any stock or water as the meat will give off enough of its natural juices

Then simply cook on:

 high for 3-4 hours
or
low for 6-7 hours

(based on 800g piece of gammon - for larger joints ie. 1.5kg cook for 12 hours on low and 8 hours on high)

Remove from slow cooker - done!

Then at the bottom of your slow cooker you have ready made ham stock , perfect for use in soups and pies or pasta dishes!

You can add any of the following to slow cook the gammon in if you wish,

cola, ginger ale, cider

which adds a touch of sweetness (cola) or heat (ginger ale) - just add enough liquid to half way fill the slow cooker and turn over half way through cooking if you are able

That's it -  slow cooker gammon is very easy cooking.

  1. I love the simplicity of the recipe, sometimes I find that people put to many herbs and sauces on the meat as it tastes so lovely on it's own. Thanks for joining into Slow Cooker Sunday

  2. Cola??? Does that not make everything taste sweet? I ait I've never tried to slow cook just meat on it own!

  3. I made this with a can of cider in it last week then shredded the meat for pulled pork. It was so lovely, I'll definitely make it again.
