Urban Exploring And Belated Festive Displays

It seems like forever since we went for a walk! What with moving and all the rain we have had this last fortnight, the boys and I have hardly been out and about. In fact the non stop wet weather has been getting me down a bit because its so uninspiring when you want to go outside. Even having a garden here is useless, when the grass is soaking wet and muddy and drenched and still the rain keeps falling down!

Anyway, Friday there was a break in the rain, albeit brief, so Daddy and I got the boys ready and we decided to explore where we are staying as living somewhere new means new places to walk past and see. Being on this side of town means that the garden centre isn't too far away still, and getting there would involve a different route to before. Also, we didn't manage to visit again just before Christmas, as I had planned to take the boys to see the festive 'band' they always have on display, we set off in that direction.

The house we are currently living in is near the North Devon link road, so how exciting for the boys as we were able to cross it on our walk which both children thought was fun to see the cars drive past underneath us!

Once at the garden centre we set about seeing the Chritsmassy displays and as you can see from the photos Burton and Jenson loved seeing it all! Considering its all free and how much the children enjoyed seeing it all, it was well worth the visit. Just a shame Chirstmas is over now :(

Then after all that rushing around it was time to enjoy a drink and a biscuit in the restaurant and a chance to make some silly faces!

When we got back outside it was raining - well heavy drizzle to be exact *groans*.
After popping to Tesco to pick up some bits, I got Daddy to take a photo of me and my boys seeing as though I didn't do this on Chritmas day! Shame Burton chose to look upwards but still !

By the time we arrived 'home' we were all a little wet, but it had been good- really good -  to get out and about at last and explore our new, even if temporary, locality.
Simple things and all that!!

  2. Ten out of ten for seizing that short burst of dry! It really has been so wet with a constant drizzle going on! The garden center looks like it has plenty going on and just the perfect walking distance for you all, I love the way you have managed to spread a little bit of Christmas over so many days and the boys look as happy as ever. Thank you for linking up with me, I really thought no one would manage this week between Christmas and New Year with all the rain.

  5. How cool is that garden centre! I used to love going to the garden centre with my parents, not really sure why, it was nowhere near as exciting looking as that one. I think it was just the fact I could run around all the paths and they had a pet shop attached!

So tired of all the rain and really glad you got to get out and get some fresh air. I am not sure why I have never thought of going to the garden centre before that is actually a pretty fab idea!

  8. There is something about those days after Christmas that make you lazy and then suddenly desperate to get out for some fresh air. Looks like you made the most of it. And aren't garden centres the best places when you have kids, I would never have believed how much time I'd end up spending in them considering I don't have a garden! X
