Last week was such a miserable one weather wise and we were stuck indoors for most of it due to a lot of rain. Thankfully, by Sunday the sun and some blue sky reappeared and it was actually quite warm. So I got the boys kitted out in wellington boots and their warm rain coats and we headed off with Burton's bike to the park.
As I had suspected many of the paths were flooded as was the grass which looked more like a swampy bog than part of the park! All the water was very enticing to my boys and within two minutes of arriving at the park, Burton had managed to get water in his boots from entering a deep water logged path!!!
Then he went off on his bike and before I could catch up with him, while pushing Jenson in the buggy, he had discovered another puddle ridden path and he was off, speeding through it and making splashes as he whizzed through it, again and again and again!!
And even after falling of his bike he just went splashing with Jenson instead!
Needless to say, when we got home I think we took most of the puddle water home with us as I emptied a lot out of their wellies!! It was a LOT of fun!!
I love it, it takes quite some doing to leave the sensible "Mummy head" behind, not worry about the wet and the clothes and let them enjoy what nature has turned up. You clearly had the same rubbish weather as we did, but I'm sure like my boys they were so much better for that bit of outdoor fun. Thank you for sharing, a perfect Country Kids post!
ReplyDeleteLooks very fun indeed- what is it with jumping in puddles that is so amazing when you are little. That Peppa Pig has a lot to answer for! xx
ReplyDeleteLooks like loads of fun...We LOVE puddles here!
ReplyDeleteThat looks loads of fun and reminds me that we need to take the kids out on their bikes. Awww how I want to hug him when he fell off his bike!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is one amazing puddle!
ReplyDeleteLooks like they both had a lot of fun! I hope Burton was ok after his fall in the puddle though! x
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! I always love how surprised little ones are when the water comes over their wellies - a good maths lesson!! Thanks for linking up this week.
