Original Sound Asleep Pillows - A Review & Give Away

My OH suffers with tinnitus and has done since he was in his late teens, and as he is getting older the constant ringing sound he hears is getting worse.  As a result when he goes to bed now he needs to have noise playing in the background whether that be a TV show, film or some music - this probably explains why he is always able to fall asleep on the sofa in front of the TV so much and so easily!

Anyway, I digressed ..... normally he listens to his iPhone either with or without his earphones to help him fall asleep. This can mean that

1). I have to turn it off when I come up to bed because I cant sleep with noise in the background and its loud
or
2). although wearing ear phones is ok it is not always that comfortable and turning over can result in them being pulled out of the iPhone.

So a solution for this bedtime scenario which will suit us both well could be The Original Sound Asleep Pillow which has an inbuilt speaker. This means that my OH can listen to whatever audio he fancies without wires getting in the way and I don't have to turn it off when it is time for me to go to bed. Sounds good so far doesn't it??

The Original Sound Asleep Pillow looks any other pillow and is made from hollowfibre

It is also very easy to use, you simply connect the lead it comes with to your audio device and lay your head on the pillow and thats it -  music , or whatever you choose to listen to,  close to your ears!

The only comment my OH made is that being made from hollowfibre it isn't as comfortable as the pillows we have BUT he did say that it works well, and the sound quality is very good and its a more convenient way of listening to his iPhone in bed.

The Original Sound Asleep Pillow is priced at £14.99 for one and £24.99 for a pair. I think these are a very good idea and I can imagine that  anyone who enjoys listening to music, relaxation techniques, homework, language studies, audio books etc... in bed and doesn't want to disturb the person they share a bed with, this would make an ideal gift. You can even listen to the television through them if you have a 3.5mm stereo plug to connect to the pillow. No sounds will be heard from the pillow until your chosen device is connected to it.

  2. wow, this is such a random thing. Having said that we have a white noise machine and when I sleep with that on I feel like I'm sleeping in a cloud

  3. I've got tinnitus and had used a speaker pillow for years (which is why these look so cool!) - but these days I'm too tired to not sleep and manage to zone out of the ringing (which is quite loud right now - grrr!)

  5. Im with your hubby, tinnitus is about tolerable during most days but at night it is unbearable, I listen to audio books on my mp3 player, cant sleep without some sort of back ground noise, and find music too distracting and dont have a tv in our room. One night I may strangle myself on my headphone when I turn over....lol
