You may remember that last year I featured this award winning range of products in a post I did here
http://mummymishaps.blogspot.com/2010/11/earth-friendly-baby-give-away.html
Well I have been given the opportunity to give away some more of their wonderful baby friendly and baby safe products :)
BABY MASSAGE OIL
I think all us Mum's know how exhausting and overwhelming having a new baby is, and at times, especially in those first few weeks, it does seem like a never ending cycle of feeding and changing nappies! Baby massage is one way to maybe take some time out and encourage some precious bonding time with baby and mummy (or indeed daddy!), and the recognised benefits are countless:
*promotes relaxation
*helps co- ordination
*assists with digestion
*stimulates circulation which can help with growth
*can help improve sleep behaviour
*stimulates the immune system
*may help mum if she is suffering from post natal depression, due to the bonding qualities
*may assist with easing colic
The Earth Friendly Baby Massage Oils are available in two variants:
* Natural Unscented Massage Oil 100ml for £3.99
* Organic Sunflower Massage Oil 100ml for £6.99
Both of these products, as with other Earth Friendly Baby products, are completely safe for baby and do not contain any artificial colouring or synthetic fragrances and do not contain any parabens or sodium lauyl/laureth suplhate. Plus they are not tested on animals :)
is full of nourishing ingredients including sweet almond oil, mild and light sunflower oil, healing shea butter and sesame oil, aswell as vitamin E which provides the massage oil with strong anti-oxidant properties. This lovely combination of ingredients is beneficial for dry skin and are unlikely to aggravate or create any nut allergies. This wonderful product, which is fragrance free and hypoallergenic is suitable to use on babies from as young as 7 days old!
I have not tried this product out myself as trying to get Burton to lie still for me is a nightmare as he wriggles about too much at the moment - changing nappies is bad enough! I did, however, try out some massage on him when he was much younger and it was lovely having a few moments to relax him and me! Despite having not sampled this Earth Friendly Massage Oil, I am confident this product is as gorgeous as it sounds as the bubble baths I reviewed before and still use certainly are!

Good Luck!
The Earth Friendly Baby massage oil is available from selected Waitrose stores, good baby health shops or http://www.HealthQuestStore.com (as is other products from this range)
**Please Note:
Some health professionals feel that you should not carry out massage on newborn babies, and should wait until they have had their first full course of immunisations (at around 3-4 months).
However, others feel you should start as soon as possible, as massage can help to provide a smooth transition from the womb to the outside world. It is also felt that massage is particularly beneficial to premature babies.
If you have any concerns about massaging your baby - and especially if your baby is sick - you should consult an appropriate health professional first.
In any case: never massage a baby if the baby seems uncomfortable.
