The Gallery - White is Best

This weeks theme over at the brilliant Sticky Fingers is WHITE. Now I know that with all of the snow that most of the country has experienced this last week, for a lot of entries this week I feel snow scenes will feature quite heavily. However, here in my part of the world we have not had any snow so I cannot showcase a lovely winter wonderland photo.

Therefore, instead I will use this week's theme in a different way.

To me there is nothing nicer than seeing a newborn baby dressed in white. Before Burton was born I had no idea what sex of baby I was having, but that was fine because I bought lots of white baby grows, vests, mitts etc.. as to me any gender looks beautiful dressed head to toe in white. I don't mean to offend anyone by saying what I am about to, but I can't stand seeing babies that are only a few days old wearing outfits that make it look like a little toddler. I have seen short denim skirts for newborn girls and I just couldn't imagine dressing mine in something like that. I actually didn't dress Burton in actual clothes until he was 12 weeks old as up until then he lived in white baby grows because all he did then was eat, sleep and poo so I didn't see the point in getting him dressed everyday! I used to get strangers in the street and shops come up and tell me how lovely it was to see a baby dressed in white - ok most of these people were from an older generation I admit, but I agree with them!

Call me old fashioned, but for me, white is best on babies. After all, they don't stay babies for long do they?

Burton aged about 3 or 4 days :)

  1. Totally agree, I had a white babygro that I kept for each of my babies to wear after they were born, the same one for all three :D Jen

  3. Aw, bless, he looks lovely! I agree with you about babies dressed as toddlers. Mine was still wearing babygros in the daytime some days until a few weeks ago, and he's 7 months.

  4. Beautiful! Thomas's first babygro was white, even though we knew he was a boy. It just seemed right for a teeny person :) Great idea for the topic! x

  18. So cute and I love babies in white too - so pure and innocent. Also it's great to get the 'white' in before the mess of solids and crawling in the mud begins!!
